Teori medan kuantum
Dalam fisika teori, teori medan kuantum (bahasa Inggris: 'quantum field theory' atau QFT) adalah kerangka teoretis untuk membangun model mekanika kuantum dari partikel subatom dalam fisika partikel dan kuasipartikel dalam fisika benda terkondensasi. Teori tersebut merupakan seperangkat gagasan dan alat matematika yang menggabungkan medan klasik, relativitas khusus, dan mekanika kuantum,[1] dan, ketika digabungkan dengan prinsip dekomposisi klaster,[2] teori tersebut adalah cara satu-satunya untuk melakukannya,[3] dengan mempertahankan gagasan partikel titik kuantum dan lokalitas. Teori QFT secara historis diyakini luas sebagai suatu teori fundamental. Saat ini diyakini, terutama karena kegagalan kuantisasi relativitas umum yang terus berlanjut, hanya merupakan perkiraan energi rendah yang sangat baik, yakni suatu teori medan efektif, hingga beberapa teori yang lebih mendasar.
