Angkatan Laut Pakistan (PN) (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.; romanized: Pākistān Bahrí'a; diucapkan [ˈpaːkɪstaːn baɦɽia]) adalah cabang militer peperangan angkatan laut dari Angkatan Bersenjata Pakistan. Kepala Staf Angkatan Laut (Pakistan) Kepala Staf Angkatan Laut Pakistan, seorang laksamana bintang empat memimpin angkatan laut. Angkatan Laut Pakistan beroperasi di garis pantai Pakistan di Laut Arab dan Teluk Oman. Angkatan Laut Pakistan didirikan pada bulan Agustus 1947, setelah kemerdekaan Pakistan dari Britania Raya.[5]
Peran utama Angkatan Laut Pakistan adalah untuk mempertahankan perbatasan laut Pakistan dari serangan musuh eksternal.[6][7] Selain layanan perangnya, Angkatan Laut telah memobilisasi aset perang untuk melakukan operasi penyelamatan kemanusiaan di dalam negeri serta berpartisipasi dalam satuan tugas multinasional yang diamanatkan oleh Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa untuk mencegah terorisme di laut dan perompakan di lepas pantai.[8][9]
The Pakistan Navy is a volunteer force which has been in conflict with neighbouring India twice on its sea borders, and has been repeatedly deployed in the Indian Ocean to act as a military advisor to Gulf Arab states and other friendly nations during the events of multinational conflict as part of its commitment to the United Nations.[10] The Navy has several components including the Naval Aviation, Marines, and the Maritime Security Agency (a coast guard).[11][12][13] Since its commencement on 14 August 1947, the defensive role of the Navy has expanded from securing the sealines and becoming the custodian of Pakistan's second strike capability with an ability to launch underwater missile system to target enemy positions.[14]
The Navy is commanded by the Chief of the Naval Staff, a four-star admiral, who is a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee. The Chief of Naval Staff is nominated by the Prime Minister and appointed by the President of Pakistan. The current Chief is Admiral Naveed Ashraf who was appointed on 7 October 2023.[15] Admiral Naveed Ashraf is the 23rd Chief of the Pakistan Navy, taking charge after Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi.[16]
