Kejuaraan Eropa U-21 UEFA 2015 adalah edisi ke-20 dari Kejuaraan Eropa U-21 UEFA, kompetisi sepak bola internasional dua tahunan untuk tim nasional U-21 putra yang diselenggarakan oleh UEFA. Turnamen terakhir diselenggarakan untuk pertama kalinya di Republik Ceko dari 15 hingga 30 Juni 2015, setelah penawaran mereka dipilih oleh Komite Eksekutif UEFA pada 20 Maret 2012 di Istanbul.[1]

Pemain yang lahir pada atau setelah 1 Januari 1992 berhak mengikuti kompetisi.[2] 52 tim berpartisipasi dalam turnamen kualifikasi, yang berlangsung antara Maret 2013 dan Oktober 2014, untuk menentukan tujuh tim yang akan mengikuti turnamen final tuan rumah. Pemegang Spanyol tidak mampu mempertahankan gelar mereka setelah tersingkir di kualifikasi play-off oleh Serbia.

Di final, dimainkan di Eden Arena di Praha, Republik Ceko mengalahkan Portugal 4–3 dalam adu penalti , setelah bermain imbang tanpa gol di akhir perpanjangan waktu. Qualification

Qualification for the final tournament of the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship consisted of two rounds: a group stage and a play-off round. The group stage draw took place on 31 January 2013 in Nyon, Switzerland, and distributed 52 national teams into ten groups of five or six teams. Each group was contested in a double round-robin system, where teams played each other twice, at home and away. The ten group winners and the four best second-placed teams advanced to the play-off round, where they were paired by draw into seven two-legged ties. The play-off winners joined the Czech Republic in the final tournament.[4]

Seeding

The draw for the final tournament took place at 18:00 CET on 6 November 2014, at the Clarion Congress Hotel in Prague. England, the highest-ranked team according to the competition coefficient rankings, and the host team, Czech Republic, were seeded and automatically assigned to separate groups. The second and third-ranked teams in the coefficient rankings, Italy and Germany, were also seeded and drawn into separate groups, while the four unseeded teams were drawn into the remaining positions of the two groups.[2][8]

Kedelapan finalis di undi menjadi dua grup yang terdiri dari empat tim. Tie-breaking

Jika dua atau lebih tim memiliki poin yang sama pada penyelesaian pertandingan grup, kriteria tie-breaking berikut diterapkan:[2]

  1. Jumlah poin yang lebih tinggi diperoleh dalam pertandingan yang dimainkan antara tim yang bersangkutan;
  2. Selisih gol yang unggul dihasilkan dari pertandingan yang dimainkan antara tim yang bersangkutan;
  3. Jumlah gol yang dicetak lebih tinggi dalam pertandingan yang dimainkan antara tim yang bersangkutan;

Jika, setelah menerapkan kriteria 1 hingga 3, tim masih memiliki peringkat yang sama, kriteria 1 hingga 3 diterapkan kembali secara eksklusif pada pertandingan antar tim yang bersangkutan untuk menentukan peringkat akhir mereka. Jika prosedur ini tidak menghasilkan keputusan, kriteria 4 sampai 6 diterapkan.

  1. Selisih gol yang unggul di semua pertandingan grup;
  2. Jumlah gol terbanyak yang dicetak di semua pertandingan grup;
  3. Posisi di peringkat koefisien U-21 UEFA yang digunakan untuk pengundian akhir.

Jika hanya dua tim yang imbang (menurut kriteria 1–5) setelah bertemu di pertandingan terakhir penyisihan grup, peringkat mereka akan ditentukan oleh adu penalti.

Qualification for the 2016 Summer Olympics

Same as previous Under-21 Championships that were held one year prior to the Olympics, UEFA used the tournament to determine which men's under-23 national teams from Europe qualify for the Olympic football tournament. The four teams which advanced to the semi-finals qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil.[21] However, England are ineligible for the Olympics and they are not an Olympic nation. Had England reached the semi-finals, the last Olympic spot would go to the winner of an Olympic play-off match between the two group third-placed teams, which was scheduled to be played on 28 June 2015, 18:00, at Stadion Miroslava Valenty, Uherské Hradiště.[11][22] However, when England failed to advance out of the group stage, this was cancelled.[n 1]
